Janelas do Mar

We were there 11 nights & did not have any cleaning service, floors not cleaned, beds not changed, rubbish not emptied. When we queried this we were told because of covid so cleaners were not in contact with guests, but we would see cleaners in corridors, none of them wore masks & as we were out during the day they could have gone in & cleaned. Other people we spoke to said the cleaners were going in every day where they were staying. My partner went off it about no clean sheets & in the end they did send a woman to change them, but again she never wore a mask. All the other staff in the complex wore masks at all times including the men outside who watered the plants. Had 2 lovely balconies, one off the lounge & one off the bedroom, both overlooked pools as there are 2 pools. The grounds of the complex are kept very clean. Please be aware that the complex is at the top of a hill.

Nice pools were about the highlight. We stayed in block number 1. Water dripping through a light socket in the lobby of this block. Although it says above all apartments have been recently renovated I very much doubt this as the one we were in, 704, was old, the bathroom was a bit smelly and this one would be in need of an overhaul. But nice view from the room down towards the sea. Staff were helpful to our needs. They have a small shop in block 2 selling water, beer and snacks which was handy
