Lagos

This cosy, family-run hotel is excellently located in the centre of the charming town of Lagos, overlooking the promenade and the marina. The historic old town with its picturesque streets, shops, boutiques, restaurants, bars and attractions such as the ancient slave market or the statue of Henry the Navigator is just a few steps away. The sandy beaches of Meia-Praia and Dona Ana and several excellent golf courses are within easy reach.

Nice vacation at Hotel Marina Rio

Review by marie-f2 Pohenegamook, Canada

We stayed four days at Hotel Marina Rio in early june 2022..Perfect location a few minutes walk from the train station and old city..Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the marina; the rooms in the back overlook the bus station and parking lot. Everything looked brand new and was spotlessly clean. The terrace and the pool on the rooftop were very nice and quiet, but very windy when we were there. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful.. For us, Hotel Marina Rio was an excellent value; we strongly recommend it.

perfect hotel for a holiday in lagos

Returned three days ago from a 10 days holiday in Lagos staying at the lovely Marino Rio Hotel. We could not fault this hotel. From the welcoming friendly staff, the relaxing ambience and its lovely location overlooking the marina...

The hotel is absolutely spotless throughout.Or room overlooked the marina which was great to watch the coming and going of the various boats and yachts. The roof top terrace is a delight. There is a pleasant dining room and staff are so kind and helpfull. The choice of food is eccellent but more important is the high qaulity of the food. Scrambled eggs are good and we enjoyed having it with smoked salmon.Coffee is really good and pastries, cooked meats and cheeses are all on offer plus much more.Brilliant hotel.

Perfect hotel x

Another fantastic stay at this lovely family run hotel. A small hotel with a big heart. The staff are so friendly and helpful...

The hotel is spotless. So clean in every department. Our room was large with a balcony over Looking the marina. A perfect place to stay you won’t be disappointed. On the rooftop is a swimming pool with plenty of beds on the terrace with a stunning view. Will be going again 🥰

As if Covid never happened

Review by cathy010256 Norwich, United Kingdom

We have been staying with Marina Rio for a number of years now, quite simply because we love everything about the hotel and the team, but Covid put paid to that for two years (thank you Covid!), so this Spring was our first time in three years and I'm pleased to report that nothing has changed, it was as though 'lockdown' had never happened.

The hotel is as immaculate as it has always been, the team of approximately 12 people are always very friendly and cheerful and keep it running efficiently and our room (there are 36 incidentally) was spotless as always and the breakfast food/ambience a delight.

From the moment we arrived (for 3 weeks!) we were fondly welcomed by Isabel (the Manager)and also by Andrea one of the owners. It was great to find all the same team were still in place, which is a testimony to this family run/owned business that they have managed to keep the team intact throughout troubled times and everyone pulls together as a team, clearly as a result of good management and working relationships within.

So, quite simply, still a great hotel, in a great location if you are staying in Lagos and great service in all respects.

Personally every time we visit we feel we have come home!
