Lagos

Occupying a central location in the Algarve city of Lagos, it's close to the marina and old town. It is a 10-minute drive from gorgeous beaches too and airport is less than 30 minutes away by car. Hotel has several restaurants, including a classic and authentic national eatery that comes highly recommended. At the main pub, guests can enjoy an aperitif or live music evenings. Guests love the many quirky indoor and outdoor public spaces, and the hotel's Beach Club on the white sands of Meia Praia is the perfect spot for pool parties and weddings.Combine history and culture with beachside bliss when guests holiday at the stylish hotel. The hotel's elegant rooms all have a balcony or terrace that overlooks the resort, Lagos or Atlantic Ocean. Our top-floor suite even has views that stretch all the way across the city and beach to Portimao. All rooms are air conditioned and equipped with all amenities needed.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

enjoyable stay

Review by donelgit Nuneaton, United Kingdom

The hotel is like a rabbit warren. There are different blocks spread around the pool area and I thought some areas could be smarter. You can go up stairs to a level then down stairs to your room so if you take the lift you can still have stairs to climb...

Main bar and lounge area is very attractive with entertainment some nights. Breakfast was buffet but plenty of choice though it didn't change much, fresh produce. Located close to the prom. and about 400yards from the older part of town. Bus station is only a short stroll away. Would stay here again. Avoid the block on far side of the pool.

Great Hotel for the price!

Review by Hazel B Mottram in Longdendale, null, United Kingdom

Got worried about past reviews on this hotel, but didn’t need to worry as the hotel functions perfectly well if you don’t expect five star quality for three star cost. We stayed in room 3101 in the main building which I would recommend - in fact any room 3101-3105 and 4101-4105 are all great as they are fully modernised and moments away from the main reception, pool and bar area. These are classed as ‘superior’ rooms (not classic or standard rooms) and cost a bit more but totally worth it...

Very Convenient Location

My sister and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Staff were very nice and helpful and were able to check us in a bit early. We used the outdoor pool which was quite refreshing though unheated (it was 30-32 degrees C)! Buffet breakfast was excellent — something for everyone and very tasty...

Our room required some steps to get there which was fine for us but less able people may need to request a room with minimal steps. The location was fabulous - east walk to marina and Old Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Breakfast is awesome, beds are super confortable, on a rather old hotel.

Review by lordrods Olhao, Portugal

OK this hotel has a few issues, and by this I mean the hotel itself. The buildings are old, the decor is a little dated, and some halls are a bit smelly, and you can spot a cracked window here and there. The staff was very friendly and professional, the breakfast was awesome and the bed was very very confortable. I slept really well! We also checked the pool, that has a very nice area and a bar with food and drinks I thought were a little overpriced. All in all it was a nice experience and we would gladly come back...

Good staff, but not a 4* hotel

Review by Alice C Bournemouth, United Kingdom

Pros:

  • really nice staff
  • breakfast are quite nice, although the hot food was always cold

Cons:

  • Facilities very very dated, the first room that we had been provided had a tiny shower, although the room booking picture showed a bath. We spoke to reception who swapped us to a room with a bath, but still not good.
  • Bathroom looks like it hasn’t been updated for 30 years
  • rooms were so far away from reception, mainly accessed by stairs, a real trek to get there
  • Bathroom always smelled like stagnant smelly sewage
  • Not a 4* (or even a 3* hotel)
  • No kettle, tea or coffee making facilities in the room
  • drinks and food at the bar are massively overpriced, even at happy hour
  • the gym and health club have broken machines and barely any equipment, which you wouldn’t expect from a 4* hotel

Overall, wish we hadn’t spent the money and stayed somewhere cheaper!
