Excellent stay

Review by Paradise642171 Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Staff are very welcoming the hotel is very clean nice buffet breakfast the hotel is situated in a more quieter area so you can walk into the new town for the night life or stay out of the busy nightlife There’s a beautiful view from the rooftop terrace over looking the a small harbour and the island which you can get a boat over for 15€ will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future.

Disappointed

Myself and mum regularly take a wee short break in Benidorm and this stay has to be one of the most disappointing because of the hotel.

The hotel looks beautiful and was very clean and we loved the location of it (specifically chosen for our favourite restaurant ReFuel Bar & Restaurant)

We booked with easyJet and thought we were getting an ocean view but turns out our room was at the back of the building. We asked how much to upgrade and the hotel requested €145 for 4 nights...

We thought that was way too steep and much more than on booking (checked later)

The room at the rear of the hotel are woeful Drab Abby look out onto an apartment building which is feels within touching distance. The road between them is a single service road so you get the picture. Not very fat at all.

We were blessed with a couple of days sunshine and the room was stifling hot and we could not work the air con. I asked at reception and was told all of the air con was off as it was not hot enough yet and the manager would not switch it on.

So in order to sleep at night we had to have the balcony door open, again a problem as it’s a service road so you hear cars all night and even the bin men come at midnight every night and they are certainly not quiet!

The hotel food was diabolical, we did not go down for the continental brekkie as cheese and meats are not our thing but we knew that when booking. We were half board and could choose between lunch or evening meal. We opted for our evening meal and this is undoubtedly the worst food I have ever been offered in a hotel.

There was a meat or a fish to choose from and a selection of veggies which were all over cooked and sloppy. A choice of chips or fried potatoes and some very strange cuts of meat. Turkey with a massive bone through it so can only presume that was a leg, we were even served a hamburger as our meat choice one night. No salad bun or sauce just a hamburger and chips.

Do yourself a favour and don’t book the meal options in this hotel, much better options at the copious amounts of restaurants and cafes with much better quality.

Over all our stay was disappointing in this hotel and had to be the worst we have experienced in Benidorm.

Fab location, clean rooms, stay away from the food and the back of the hotel and you will be alright.

Average

Room was small but adequate. No kettle, no fridge. Hired a fridge but told they do not hire kettles? The walls were very thin so could hear the neighbours talking/arguing...

Staff on the whole friendly. Our room was on the 1st floor with the bar below us. We had smoke drifting up from the bar below, rooms constantly smelt of smoke and old ashtrays and corridors did as well. Stuck it out for a couple of days then paid extra to upgrade to a VIP room to escape the smell of the smoke and the noise from the bar (avoid 1st floor). The food was at best average. At breakfast there is is only one coffee machine and a result there are massive queues. The best thing about this hotel is the sea views thats why we gave it 3 stars instead of 2.

Great hotel and sea views

Review by sallieann58 Birmingham, United Kingdom

On our last night of 12 at this hotel and have had a great time . Lovely clean and maintained hotel . Only had room with breakfast which was lovely and plenty of choice more than we were expecting...

Had a sea view room which overlooked the beach and great views. Plenty of bars and restaurants around and much quieter than the main strip if you want s quieter holiday. Hotel bar has entertainment and drinks reasonably priced and Meliney behind bar speaks very good English and is lovely. Only criticism is it rooms would benefit having a mini fridge and kettle in rooms other wise would highly recommend hotel we will return for definite. Thanks to all staff for making our stay great.

Great value with superb location and sea view.

Am still at the hotel as I write this, it is raining but still enjoying the break in this lovely hotel. Super clean, helpful staff, and our vip sea view room was great. A couple of issues though - there is no kettle in the room, we had to go and buy our own...

Luckily we brought tea and coffee with us. It seems ridiculous that guests would have to get dressed and go search for a drink rather than enjoy a cup on the beautiful balcony. If you have a travel kettle, bring it. There have been negative comments regarding the food. The difference in price between b and b and full board on our deal was very small, it worked out that each lunch and dinner cost £1.60 per person. The food provided was incredible for that price, as much as you could eat with large amounts of choice. To complain about it is silly. Buy the deal, eat out if you're not happy. We found something tasty every day, fish turkey and rabbit are regular features, maybe too regular. No pepper on the table, you have to ask for sachets. Why?

The location is perfect, a short stroll from the old town one way or a pleasant walk along the seafront the other, with a large supermarket should you need it.

We love the hotel and it will be our first choice when we return.
