Costa Blanca

The hotel is situated in an animated hotel area of Benidorm, just 300 metres away from Levante beach, and a few metres from a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The old town and tourist centre are 20 minutes' walking distance away and the hotel is only 100 metres from public transport.

This beach hotel, with a cosy and familiar atmosphere, was totally refurbished in 2007 and comprises 2 buildings of 9 and 8 floors and a total of 358 rooms, including 17 singles and 341 doubles. In the lobby there is a 24-hour reception desk with money exchange and other services. There is a total of 5 lifts in the 2 buildings and a panoramic lift with access to the restaurant. The establishment has the café 'Dracma' with live music, a bar-lounge overlooking the sun terrace, where a cabaret and dancing programme can be enjoyed, the summer bar 'Venus Oasis' and an air-conditioned restaurant buffet style. Younger guests may enjoy the children's playground. There is also a hairdresser's, games area near the pool and Internet access (local charge). The hotel offers a garage for guests arriving by car (local charge and subject to availability).

The comfortable refurbished rooms come equipped with a balcony, complete bathroom (the hairdryer is on request with refundable breakage deposit), satellite television, telephone and safe box (local charge) as standard. Air conditioning and heating are also provided for guests' comfort.

The hotel has a large sun terrace surrounded by a tropical garden with a superb outdoor swimming pool for adults and children, furnished with sun loungers and parasols. Next to the pool there is a games room with table tennis (local charge) and billiards (local charge). The establishment also offers a wide range of daytime and evening entertainment programmes for adults and daytime entertainment for children (summer only). The nearest golf course is 5 km away.

The restaurant offers buffet style meals and show-cooking.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Another great stay

Review by joannel534 Newry

Another fabulous stay at the Venus. Staff are all very friendly. Food is amazing a choice for everyone. Hotel and pool area are spotless. Only thing found quite a few sunbeds broke. Rooms are small and walls are paper thin but we knew that as stay here all the time.

Great hotel, friendly staff, great location, very clean.

Review by SunworshipperDonegal Donegal

I've just returned from a week's stay on a full board basis. From booking the hotel right up until departure service was excellent. Dawn was exceptionally helpful with our booking and transfers...

Thank you Dawn. We arrived early for check in and our rooms were ready. Fantastic. Plus we were on time for lunch.

The staff at this hotel work very hard and are so friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. Service in the restaurant from entering until leaving was very efficient and friendly.

We stayed in room 8003 (top floor with pool view). The room had 2 single beds, plenty of storage space, air-conditioning, a safe and small fridge and a balcony. It was a little on the small side but it was fine for 2 people. I think if it had a double bed in it then it would have felt more roomy. I didn't like the bathroom door. It was frosted glass and wasn't fitted as a proper door but more like a shower door with no lock and gaps the whole way around. There was a mirrored trim around the frame and you could see someone on the toilet or at the sink from outside the bathroom. There was no privacy when using the loo (I get stage fright 😂). The room was cleaned and towels changed every day. There was no kettle in the room so I went to a nearby charity shop and bought a kettle and cups to have a cuppa in my room. It was a godsend for my dad also who drinks A LOT of tea and coffee. I returned these items to the charity shop before I left so that they could sell them again.

The food in the restaurant was very good with a good variety to suit most people's taste. The show cooking was hit and miss with some meats being overcooked eg chicken skewers were burnt and the beef was like rubber. Apart from that I enjoyed the food and never felt that it was repetitive and never left the restaurant feeling hungry. The staff there were excellent and super efficient. We didn't like the tea or coffee provided with breakfast. I ended up using our own teabags and coffee (just a wee minor thing for us personally) BUT we did like to make a bucks fizz with cava and orange juice.

The pool area is spacious and very clean. I watched the staff clean it in the morning including cleaning the poolside showers and toilets and scrubbing the side of the pool with a scrubbing brush. There was also a sunbathing terrace away from the pool. At the beginning of our week there was plenty of sunbeds available and no mad rush to reserve them. However this worsened as the week progressed unfortunately. There is a sign advising guests that sunbeds can be reserved for 15 minutes. Sadly this wasn't adhered to nor was it enforced.

I felt secure in this hotel as guests had to use their room keys to access all areas including the lifts and pool areas as well as the toilets at reception and by the restaurant.

Because we booked directly with the hotel the price included airport transfers with Beniconnect, admission to Benidorm Palace and also a free drink. The transfer was great/seamless. And the show at Benidorm Palace was brilliant. I would go again. The free drink was local beer, wine or spirit. We couldn't drink them. They were awful.

The hotel is in a great location. It is just around the corner from the outdoor market, a 10 minute walk to the beach and promenade and there are lots of bars nearby with a wide array of entertainment to suit all ages as well as small quiet bars if you just want to have a quiet drink. The hotel entertainment wasn't to my taste.

I would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Superb hotel..........................

Review by owlschick Sheffield, United Kingdom

Having stayed in quite a lot of Spanish hotels over the years I can honestly say this has been the best. The food is really good and suits the British palate.Normally i take extra spends as I expect to eat out a lot, however this was not the case here.I found the food good every day.The room was spotless and the staff welcoming and friendly.Plenty of sunbeds for all.The hotel is near all bars, shops ect.The evening entertainment was also good but went to bars down the road mainly.Coming to Benidorm again would book in here in a heatbeat.Great stuff Venus x

TripAdvisor Review

Great hotel with decent food.

Review by cmiz Sheffield, United Kingdom

We never usually stay more than bed and breakfast, we like to find and try nice restaurants on an evening, but the half board was only a fraction more than b&b so decided it was silly not to. Glad we did. The food was lovely, no complaints from us...

We were only there 4 nights so no time to get bored of it. The only even we didn’t have food was on the British night where it was fish and chips and pie, we opted to change to having lunch instead and went out for tapas for tea. Everything was cooked well and plenty to choose from so something for everyone. You do not get any drinks other than at breakfast so be prepared to pay for the water/beer/soft drinks when you eat.

The staff were all lovely, remembered us in restaurant, always helpful on reception, lent us beach towels as we didn’t bring any. The cleaners were thorough and in every day and fast as lightning.

Our room was in the old block over looking the road so not a great view, but as we are not the type to be sat in our room this don’t bother us. I would say if you want to be able to sit on balancing etc ask for a pool view room.

The room was very clean, beds comfy. No tea/coffee facilities but did have a fridge for cold drinks. Free sage.

Location wise, you are a couple of minutes walk from the hub of bars but not so close for noise to bother you. 20 minute stroll to old town 10 min stroll to beach.

I have stayed in both old and new town and I like the proximity of this hotel to the music bars, although we don’t go for the “strip”.

We only saw the entertainment once in the hotel and whilst it was a decent singer, it didn’t keep us in as there are so many great entertainment venues with better acts. But that was only one night so I cannot comment on the entertainment for the rest of the time.

All in all would definitely return, and we are just about to stay with kids in the servigroup pueblo on our next stay (as the Venus was full).
