Proving your vaccination status

If you’re fully vaccinated with two doses of an EU/WHO approved vaccine many destinations do not require you to show a negative COVID test result prior to entering the country.

In order to qualify the second vaccine dose generally needs to have been administered at least 14 days prior to arrive. Since entry conditions vary by destination and are subject to alteration, we recommend that you visit the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) travel advice page for the most up to date information at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

Please note that if you wish to use a printed PDF version to demonstrate your COVID-19 vaccination status you should ensure that it is dated from 1 November otherwise it may be rejected.

NHS COVID pass

An NHS COVID Pass provides evidence of your vaccination status and is available to everyone 16 or over who have had both vaccinations. Full guidance on the NHS COVID Pass can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/

You can obtain your NHS COVID Pass in three ways:

  • Download the NHS App
  • Visit the NHS website
  • Call 119

NHS App

The NHS App can be downloaded onto your smartphone from the App Store on your IOS (iphone) phone or from GooglePlay if you have an Android phone. After you have downloaded the NHS App please follow the on-screen instructions in order to register, this is easier if you have your NHS number to hand.

You will again need to register to use these services.

Call 119

If you do not have access to the internet, you can call 119 and ask for the an NHS COVID Pass letter to be sent to your home address which as above can take up to 5 days.
