Everyone 12 and older who is fully vaccinated with the last dose administered at least 14 days prior to arrival can visit Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka will accept the UK’s COVID vaccine certificate (letter versions) as proof of vaccination. Digital versions are not accepted.
Any paper version must be dated from 1 November 2021.
Children aged under the age of 12 can travel if they are accompanying their vaccinated parents/legal do not need to do a COVID test.
An NHS COVID Pass provides evidence of your vaccination status.
If you are not fully vaccinated then you can visit Sri Lanka but you must follow the additional entry requirements.
All visitors must complete:
Public Health Travel Declaration Form - https://airport.lk/health_declaration/index - All Travellers will need to fill the Online Health Declaration Form individually and upload the relevant documents (Vaccination record, Predeparture COVID-19 negative test report, Data page of the passport) prior to boarding. Travellers should arrive with the QR code (in mobile/hard copy) issued to them.
Visas - https://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ - This should be completed online before departure
COVID-19 Local Insurance cover - https://www.visitsrilanka.gov.lk/ - This should be completed online before departure. If you have full insurance cover that specifically covers COVID-19, you will not be required to obtain COVID-19 travel insurance.
Forms should be available to be presented to airline and health officials on departure or on arrival in Sri Lanka.
Visitors who are fully vaccinated are not required to take COVID tests.
Visitors who are not fully vaccinated must take either a PCV test taken 72 hours or a Rapid Antigen 48 hours before embarkation. Additionally a PCR test must be taken on arrival at the airport and a further test on day 7 in order to exit the Tourism Bio Bubble.
Visitors who are not fully vaccinated must on arrival in Sri Lanka follow the guidance for not-vaccinated and not-fully-vaccinated travellers. You will need to stay in a Tourism Bio Bubble and a Level 1 ‘Safe and Secure Certified’ hotel until 7 days after arrival. You will be allowed to visit approved tourist sites and use all facilities of the hotel upon negative results of the on-arrival PCR test.
